§ 53. Mr. James Hamiltonasked the Secretary of State for Employment what advice and assistance has been given to the workers of Ranco Motors Limited, Tannochside, and to the workers of Speelman's, Newhouse, about finding new jobs; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Chichester-Clark:Local officers of my Department have carried out advance interviewing of redundant workpeople at Speelman's, Newhouse, and have also arranged interviews for them with interested firms.
At Ranco Motors, I understand discussions are still proceeding and that, in any case, no redundancies are expected for some months, but I would hope to be able to provide similar assistance there to workpeople who may need it.
