asked the Secretary of State for Wales what was the total volume of local authority mortgage lending in Wales is the years 1970 and 1971.

Mr. Peter Thomas:

In the financial years ending 31st March, 1971, and 31st March, 1972, local authorities in Wales notified me of mortgage lending amounting to £7,998,456 and £10,416,461 respectively.
