§ Mr. Knoxasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer, from information available from international sources, what is the gross domestic product per head at factor cost in Germany, France, Italy, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands for the most recent year for which figures are available; and how these figures compare with that for the United Kingdom for the same year.
§ Mr. Nott:The latest figures are given in the table below. They are based on information contained in National Accounts 1960–70 published by the Statistical Office of the European Communities and the latest published figures for the United Kingdom. The figures have been converted from national currencies at official rates of exchange which do not necessarily reflect differences in the internal purchasing power of the national currencies.
