HL Deb 30 March 1972 vol 329 cc1197-8WA
LORD HYLTON

asked Her Majesty's Government:

When the results of the 1971 Census for Greater London will be published, and whether data relating to over-crowding, multiple occupation, lack of domestic amenities and the state of repair of dwellings, will be released in advance of general publication, at least for the housing stress areas and housing problem areas as defined in the Greater London Development Plan and subsequent official Reports.

THE MINISTER OF STATE, DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND SOCIAL SECURITY (LORD ABERDARE)

Information from the 1971 Census for Greater London will be laid before Parliament over the next two years. The first "advance analysis" of the population of Greater London will be published during the next two months. A second report, the "County" Report, will contain statistics on housing for the whole of the Greater London Council area and will cover over-crowding, multiple occupation and domestic amenities; questions on the state of repair of dwellings were not included in the Census. It is expected that the County report will be available in the autumn of this year.
