§ 34. Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether, in his forthcoming review of retirement pensions and the adoption of the annual review, he will arrange it on the basis that such benefits are maintained in purchasing value on a basis of a fixed percentage of the national average wage; and that the present retirement pension on revision should be based on 50 per cent. of the national average wage.
