§ Mr. Knoxasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what provision is made for secondary education for blind and partially blind children in Staffordshire.
§ Mr. van StraubenzeeBlind and partially sighted children of secondary school age are sent by the Staffordshire local education authority to special schools run by voluntary bodies or other authorities. Twelve of the 14 children concerned attend schools in the West Midlands.
§ Mr. Bishopasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what further action she proposes to take to implement the recommendations of the Report of the Advisory Committee on Handicapped Children, especially regarding screening for reading ability, the giving of individual instruction, the provision of remedial centres and remedial specialists and to assist slow learners generally.
