Rhys Williamsasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer how many people receiving earned income would be relieved of the necessity for any net deduction for income tax purposes to be made from their wages or salaries if child allowances and family allowances were abolished for all children under 16 years of age and positive tax credits were allowed to be offset simultaneously against their tax liabilities by their employers at a rate of £1.50 per week for each child affected.
