§ 48. Mr. Kenneth Clarkeasked the Secretary of State for Employment whether he has been consulted about the West German Government's proposal that the European Commission should prepare draft proposals for a European Community-wide prices and incomes policy; and what representations he will make to the Commission on the subject when they consult him about such draft proposals.
§ Mr. BryanMy right hon. Friend knows of no such proposal. During the period preceding accession, the Government will be informed of any proposal from the Commission of the European Economic Communities which might lead to decisions by the Council of Ministers, and have a right to seek consultations. If such proposals are made for a Community-wide prices and incomes policy, the Government will consider their reaction at the appropriate time.
