§ Mr. SharplesUnder the urban programme, close attention is paid to the priorities proposed by the local authority, but there are other considerations which have to be taken into account, including the comparative costs of projects, and the fact that in providing Exchequer assistance to deal with deprivation, there are national as well as local priorities to be observed.
