Mr. James Kilfedder

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what statistics of murders by the Irish Republican Army are now in his possession; and how many of the victims were tortured or mutilated.

pursuant to his reply, Official Report, 8th June, 1972, c. 125, supplied the following information:

The numbers of persons who are known to have lost their lives as a result of terrorist activities so far this year are as follows. The civilian figures exclude persons who died while engaged in terrorist activities on behalf of the IRA and persons who were killed in the course of street disorders.
