§ Mr. Bishopasked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will list in the Official Report the extent of redundancies and short-time working with the companies concerned in the ball bearing industry in the past two years.
§ Mr. Chichester-ClarkDuring the two years 1st June, 1970 to 31st May, 1972, 1,200 redundancies are recorded as having been due to take effect in establishments wholly engaged in the manufacture of ball bearings. During the same period some 26,000 man days are recorded as having been lost in these firms through short time working.
