HL Deb 08 June 1972 vol 331 c534WA
LORD BURTON

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether, in view of the urgent need to proceed with road developments on the A.9 North of Inverness, they can state when British Railways will be ready to submit to tender their proposals for the railway bridge over the realigned piece of road at Phopachy.

THE MINISTER OF STATE, SCOTTISH OFFICE (LORD POLWARTH)

From discussions which have taken place with British Rail, who will be responsible for designing the new bridge and for supervising its construction, we expect detailed design and the preparation of contract documents to be completed within the next twelve months.
