§ 70. Mr. Meacherasked the Secretary of State for Social Services on what grounds unemployment benefit is disqualified where unemployment has been caused by a lock-out, the cause of which is the refusal to undertake piecework when no contractual obligation to do piecework already exists.
§ Mr. DeanThe National Insurance Act, 1965, provides that unemployment benefit shall not be payable to persons involved in any trade dispute. There is no power to make a distinction between a strike and a lock-out for this purpose.
