§ Mr. NobleI have had only one complaint about such advertisements since the beginning of 1971. The complainant's attention was drawn to the responsibility of local weights and measures authorities for enforcement of the Trade Descriptions Act, 1968, and to other means of pursuing her complaint.
§ 62. Mr. Liptonasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry how many prosecutions have been instituted against firms or individuals for advertising misleading alleged slimming remedies.
§ Mr. NobleI am aware of one prosecution under the Trade Descriptions Act in which the slimming properties of the goods were in question.
