The word "conscience" substituted for words "religious belief" in paragraph (2). This alteration was made following representations from various interests. Article 51—Adaptation of enactments relating to the employment of children or young persons. Addition of paragraphs (2) and (3). These sub-paragraphs were added by the Ministry of Education to make provision similar to that proposed for Great Britain for work experience schemes for children in the last year of compulsory schooling. Schedule 2—Education and Library Board. Addition of sub-paragraph (7) to paragraph (1). Because of the postponement of district council elections this sub-paragraph was added by the Ministry of Education to enable partially constituted boards to function in advance of the appointment of district council representatives. Schedule 15—Enactments amended. Addition of amendment to Section 37 of the Children and Young Persons Act (N.I.) 1968. This amendment was included at the request of the Ministry of Home Affairs to enable children who have reached the age of 13 years to continue to undertake part-time work. Without this amendment the minimum age for part-time employment would have automatically risen to 14 years with the raising of the upper limit of compulsory school age to 16 years
