§ Mr. Fauldsasked the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) what progress he has made in his consideration of whether hospital kitchens should continue to enjoy Crown exemption from food hygiene legislation;
(2) if he will make a statement about the standard of hygiene in hospital kitchens, following the publication of Towards Cleaner Food, issued by the Association of Public Health Inspectors, a copy of which is in his possession.
§ Sir K. JosephI would refer the hon. Member to my reply to the hon. Members for Wood Green (Mrs. Joyce Butler), Hudders field, West (Mr. Lomas) and Eccles (Mr. Carter-Jones) on 12th June, 1972.
The Association of Public Health Inspectors has undertaken to reply to the letter from my Department when its General Council has studied the report of its working party on food hygiene.
