§ Mr. Alexander Wilsonasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what steps he is taking to improve the position in so far as shortage of general practitioners in Lanarkshire is concerned.
§ Mr. Gordon CampbellDesignated allowances, designed to attract doctors into areas where lists of patients are large, are paid to the general practitioners in eight districts in Lanarkshire. Discussions are to be held between the Health Departments and the medical profession to consider whether other arrangements might make a more effective contribution towards solving the problem ofunder-doctored areas.
