asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will give some indication as to the proposed route, in tentative form, for the new motorway between Birmingham and Oxford; and at what points "feeder" roads are proposed; and whereabouts on the M.6 is the junction proposed; also what are the approximate dates expected for publication of these various steps, including final completion.

My right honourable friend the Secretary of State for the Environment is not yet in a position to make a statement about a possible new route between Oxford and Birmingham, but he hopes to be able to do so before long.
