§ Mr. William Hamiltonasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will accept an invitation to attend the Scottish Assembly on Unemployment to be held on Monday, 14th February, at Edinburgh.
§ Mr. Gordon CampbellI received an invitation, as a Member of Parliament, from the General Secretary of the General Council of the Scottish Trades Union Congress to attend a conference on unemployment on 14th February. The invitation indicated that one purpose of the conference was to prepare a "charter of demands" to the Government. I replied that it would clearly be wrong for me, as a member of the Government, to take part in this; but that I shall be extremely interested to follow what happens at the conference.
The General Secretary has replied to say that the difficulty about a Minister attending is clearly understood.
