§ Mr. Gordon CampbellSeventy-one doctors were appointed to consultant posts in the National Health Service in Scotland for the first time during 1971; six of them opted for maximum part-time contracts. The corresponding figures for 1970 were 61 and three; in addition there were that year two part-time appointments in anxsthetics. The table below sets out the maximum part-time appointments by specialty:
