§ Mr. CorfieldThe House will recall that my hon. Friend, the Minister of State for Defence Procurement, announced on 19th January in response to a Question by my hon. Friend the Member for Cheadle (Mr. Normanton) the Government's intention to purchase an additional squadron of Nimrod aircraft. I understand that this order will have the effect of stabilising employment levels at the two largest centres of the aircraft industry in the area: Hawker-Siddeley's factories at Woodford and Chadderton.
