(2) how many deaths and injuries, injuries, respectively, resulted from the use of second-hand domestic oil heaters during the last year for which figures are available.
§ Mr. SharplesAccording to the Office of Population Censuses and Surveys, 38 people died in England and Wales in 1970 from accidents involving oil heaters, mostly in the home. The Joint Fire Research Organisation estimates that, in oil heater fires in the home attended by fire brigades in England and Wales in 1969, about 300 people were injured. It is not known whether the oil heaters concerned were new or second-hand.
