HC Deb 04 February 1972 vol 830 c209W
Mr. Spearing

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if, in considering the basic need element in the capital school building programme of any local authority, she will state what account she takes of premises acquired by that authority for school purposes but not requiring capital expenditure.

Mrs. Thatcher

In determining the need for additional school places I take into account the capacity of all the accommodation likely to be available, calculated according to its age, suitability and the purpose for which it was originally provided.
