Mr. Spence

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will review the law on copyright and registered designs specifically relating to industrial designs which incorporate technological ingenuity, with a view to British technologists being no less safeguarded than the best in the European Economic Community.

Mr. Ridley

I am not aware that our law provides inadequate safeguards; but I will consider any points on which my hon. Friend cares to write to me.
