§ Mr. Prescottasked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether the Industrial Injuries Advisory Council have included seamen in their inquiry into whether there is loss of hearing due to noise in the course of their employment, 206W or to which body he has referred the noise problem facing seamen.
§ Mr. DeanThe Council are investigating the general question whether noise-induced hearing loss satisfies the conditions for prescription as an industrial disease under the National Insurance (Industrial Injuries) Act. Any evidence received by them of special problems associated with particular occupations will no doubt be taken into account by the Council.
