§ Mr. O'Halloranasked the Secretary of State for Employment how many redundancies took place in England and Wales in 1971; and how many of these were building workers.
§ Mr. BryanNot all redundancies are notified to my Department and it is not the practice to keep records of every minor redundancy. However, our records show that redundancies due to occur in England and Wales in 1971 involved about 292,000 workpeople. Some 10,000 of these were construction industry workers.
