§ 42. Mr. Abseasked the Secretary of State for Wales what study he has made of the effect on industrialists contemplating moving to Wales of expected gas supplies in 1975, 1976 and 1977; and whether he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Peter ThomasNo special study has been made. The industrial marketing policy of the Wales Gas Board has so far been highly successful but I am advised that further expansion will depend—as in the rest of the country—on how much gas becomes available from new discoveries.
§ 44. Mr. Denzil Daviesasked the Secretary of State for Wales whether his Department will undertake a publicity campaign in the Common Market countries to persuade European industries to invest in Wales.
§ Mr. Peter ThomasI think it preferable to concentrate on the continuing promotional work undertaken by firms, Government Departments and by the Development Corporation for Wales. I have every expectation that this will continue to be successful in bringing European firms to Wales.
