Students registered for first degree courses (session 1972–73) 34,189 Students registered for postgraduate courses leading to the award of the Council's masters degrees (session 1972–73) 583 Candidates registered for the Council's research degrees (31st December 1971) 1,062 In addition, 96 students have registered in the session 1972-73 for courses leading to a postgraduate diploma of the council (a new type of qualification). There is no cost to the Exchequer.
