§ Mr. Neaveasked the Lord President of the Council whether he is now able to inform the House of the Government's conclusions regarding the Fifth Report of the Select Committee on Science and Technology.
§ Mr. PriorThe Government have considered the Select Committee's Fifth Report. The Population Panel is due to report by about the end of the year. The Government do not believe that any useful purpose would be served by their commenting on the issues raised by the Fifth Report of the Select Committee until the panel has reported and the Government have considered its conclusions and recommendations. At that stage there will be an obvious opportunity for a serious and wide-ranging discussion.
