§ Mr. Tugendhatasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will make a statement regarding the impact of the standstill on British Steel Corporation pricing after 1st January 1973.
§ Mr. Peter WalkerThe standstill will continue to apply to steel prices but I would expect United Kingdom steel producers to adopt the ECSC basing points price system as soon as the standstill ends. We have made clear to the European Commission our intention to do everything possible to conform with the requirements of the ECSC Treaty.
