§ 26. Mr. Dalyellasked the Secretary of State for Social Services when he hopes to be in a position to evaluate the outcome of his scheme for persuading people who acquiesce in the use by hospitals of their kidneys, in the event of sudden death, to carry identification cards.
§ Sir K. JosephThe scheme has been well received but it is likely to be quite some time before we can measure its success. We hope to see not only an increase in the number of kidney transplants but an improvement in the recipient's chances of getting a kidney which is closely matched with his own.
