§ Mr. Stratton Millsasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will introduce legislation to enable the Government, in conjunction with the National Trust, to prepare a scheme so as to create long-distance paths in Northern Ireland, and access to mountains and shores, to improve the amenities of the Province and to provide employment for unskilled and semi-skilled men, currently unemployed.
§ Mr. van StraubenzeeThe question of legislation on long-distance paths and other related matters is presently under consideration following meetings between representatives of the National Trust and other amenity bodies in Northern Ireland with the Ministry of Development. It is hoped that a further statement on this matter can be made shortly.
