HC Deb 09 August 1972 vol 842 c493W
Mr. Wilkinson

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what is the number of former detainees and internees, respectively, whose deaths have been officially recorded by the civil authorities or who have been admitted to hospital with gunshot wounds; how many of these deaths or cases of wounding were attributable to action with British security forces; and how many of each category of casualty occurred in other circumstances.

Mr. David Howell

The security forces have details of five persons hit by gunfire since their release from detention or internment.

Three ex-internees were wounded by the security forces, one of them fatally. One ex-internee was wounded, and one ex-detainee fatally wounded, in incidents not involving the security forces.
