§ 75. Mr. William Clarkasked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether, in order to safeguard the Reserve Scheme Fund under the Government's proposed new pension proposals from possible political manipulation by any future Government, he will ensure that a Clause whereby the Minister is given the power to direct the publicly appointed Board to take such action as he thinks fit is not included in any Bill introduced for implementing the proposals.
§ Mr. DeanIt is essential to our proposals that there should be no ministerial power to direct the board in its investment activities.
