§ 81. Mr. Edwin Wainwrightasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he is aware of the increasing health hazards to farm workers through 88W handling chemical additives to animal feeds; and if he will take the necessary action to ensure that such workers have periodical health checks.
§ Mr. Peter MillsMy right hon. Friend has no knowledge of any health hazard to farm workers from the handling of feed additives. Statutory controls already apply to medicinal additives and will be extended to other additives from mid-1973. In the circumstances he sees no need to institute periodical health checks for the workers to whom the hon. Member refers.
If the hon. Member has any particular case in mind I should be glad to have details.
