§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether, on entry into the Common Market under their existing rules and regulations, his Department and Members of Parliament will have the power to introduce legislation dealing with the protection of all animals, bird life, etc., and experiments on animals without reference to or restriction by the Council of Ministers, and/or Commission, or other bodies of the European Economic Community.
§ Mr. LaneExisting Community provisions impose no restriction on the freedom of member countries to legislate on such matters.
