§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he is aware that money paid in the form of the betting levy drawn from the horse-race punters is ploughed back to improve the sport of racing; and whether he will initiate a scheme, if need be by legislation, to ensure that money paid in taxation on football pools is in part ploughed back to assist the sport of football, or to arrange a system whereby football pool firms operate a levy system similar to that operated in horseracing.
§ Mr. HigginsMy right hon. Friend has no proposals for such a scheme.
