asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) if he will now introduce legislation for the reimposition of the death penalty for the crime of murder, in view of recent killings;

(2) if, in view of the great increase in crime, he will legislate for greater penalties for crimes of violence; and he will make a statement.
