§ Mr. ChannonThe industry has continued to press that the two-year period for firm price contracts should be reduced to one year. My right hon. Friend has carefully considered this request but on present evidence does not consider any relaxation would be in the public interest. My right hon. Friend informed the National Consultative Council for the Building and Civil Engineering Industries of this decision on 15th September, 1971.
