§ Mr. David Clarkasked the Secretary of State for Social Services how he proposes to publicise the Government's decision to stop unemployment benefit for the first six days of any stoppage as from 1st January, 1972.
§ Mr. DeanThere has already been considerable public discussion of what is known as the "six day suspension rule" since the announcement of our proposals last March and the subsequent debate on the commencement Order. We shall, however, be issuing a Press notice very shortly, and special leaflets will soon be available in employment exchanges explaining the new rule.
