In connection with the primary school improvement programme education authorities were asked about the primary schools which in their view should be considered for improvement or replacement in the course of the 1970s. The information provided by Fife Education Authority shows that there are 26 schools in this category which are wholly or partly over 70 years old. Replacements for two of these schools have already been authorised and the others will be considered for later programmes.
