HC Deb 16 November 1971 vol 826 c84W
48. Mrs. Joyce Butler

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will ask his advisory committee to examine the incidence of salmonella poisoning associated with the consumption of frozen poultry and other foods and to make recommendations for any further regulations which will help to prevent such poisoning.

Mr. Alison

No. Application of the present Food Hygiene Regulations provides adequate protection against the risk of salmonella poisoning arising from the consumption of frozen foods, including poultry provided they are properly thawed and cooked.
