§ Mr. Gordon CampbellThe Study Group which I set up under the chairmanship of Dr. H. Stewart Mackintosh, former Director of Education of Glasgow, to advise on the form which the celebrations might take has now reported and I 259W have commended its suggestions to education authorities and others by a circular which was issued on 25th May. The Study Group recommended that the centenary should be celebrated locally and nationally. The national celebrations will include an exhibition to be held in Edinburgh, a new film on Scottish education and a tape/slides competition for schools and youth clubs. I am very glad to say that Dr. Mackintosh has accepted my invitation to co-ordinate and advise on the national celebrations.
