Mr. Iremongerasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what rôle he envisages in the new health authorities described in his Consultative Document on National Health Service Reorganisation for those with special knowledge and experience in dealing with the problems of permanently and substantially handicapped persons.

JosephThe treatment and care of the handicapped will continue to need special attention in the reorganised health 57W service and area and regional health authorities will be expected to draw on the experience of those with particular knowledge in this field in the operation of their services.
