§ Mr. Cordleasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what consultations he has had with local authorities and others in the Bournemouth area with a view to helping to provide alternative employment following recent announcements about redundancies in the aircraft industry at Hurn.
§ Sir J. EdenAs my hon. Friend knows, I have recently met deputations from the aircraft industry in the area. The local 21W authorities have not sought special meeting on this subject. I am aware of the views of the trades councils, and am continuing to keep a close watch on the local employment situation.
