HC Deb 06 May 1971 vol 816 c417W
Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Minister of State for Defence why, in view of the Government's statement that all replies to questions on the Census form would be secret, he instructed a number of his employees not to fill in these forms in such a way as to give full and detailed description of their type of employment; and whether he will make a statement.

Lord Balniel: My staff were instructed to provide answers in accordance with what was agreed with the Office of Population Censuses and Surveys.

These instructions will not in any way limit the information provided to less than what was required for the purposes of the Census.
