asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what is the position with regard to availability of doctors, nurses and other staff in the accident unit in the area of the Manchester Regional Hospital Board.

Mr. Alison

There are 28 major accident units in the area of the Manchester Regional Hospital Board. There are difficulties in recruiting doctors to these units, but no general difficulties in the recruitment of nursing staff for them.
