§ 56. Mr. Palmerasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will give the average availability of generating plant in commissioned power stations containing 500 megawatt units for the winter of 1970–71 in the Central Electricity Generating Board system.
§ Mr. RidleyI am informed by the C.E.G.B. that the average availability during peak periods of all commissioned 500MW units on their C.E.G.B. system during the winter of 1970–71 was 64 per cent.

Mr Palmerasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what action has been taken by his Department to carry out the recommendations of the Select Committee on Science and Technology in its report Generating Plant Breakdowns, Winter 1969–70, Command Paper No. 223, published on 13th April, 1970.
