§ 7. Mr. McCrindleasked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he will take steps to make extra housing grants available to cover the costs of installation of lifts for flats of more than one storey, purpose-built for old people.
§ Mr. ChannonThe current standard for subsidised provision of purpose-built old people's dwellings was laid down in October, 1969. It provides for lifts in blocks of more than two storeys. I will certainly bear my hon. Friend's views in mind but it is too soon to consider amendments at this stage.
