§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer in view of the fact that a more than 10 per cent. loss to the Revenue is being caused by owners of road vehicles refusing to pay their Road Fund licences, whether, as a means of safeguarding the Revenue and providing a deterrent, he will, in his forthcoming Budget, introduce a system of totting up these offences so that after three such offences the licence is automatically withdrawn, as with speeding and other offences.
§ Mr. HigginsI do not accept that the general level of evasion is as high as 10 per cent. As to the second part of the Question, I cannot anticipate my right hon. Friend's Budget proposals.
